Oxford Energy Academy. This is a training centre that I am very pleased to be associated with. It was set up by two former colleagues of mine from Oxford City College who I have the greatest respect for in terms of expertise and character. OEA delivers electrical and gas/plumbing training and has just opened a new training centre in Cambridgeshire. I wish them every success for the future.

Oxford City College. Trained as an apprentice here myself and many years later ended up running the Electrical Installation department before I went freelance. Oxford College has been good to me and there are a lot of very talented people working there. After such a long association I feel like an old married couple might - I am very fond of her but would sometimes like to strangle her. One of my colleagues summed it up nicely with "This place is like the Hotel California: You can check out but you can never leave".

Joint Training Ltd – this is a national outfit, they are the link between electrical apprentices and the electrical installation industry. They also offer training and NVQs, and whatever they do is extremely professional. I like the way they work and I get along very well with this organisation.

National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting – A much respected organisation. This group ensures that electrical contractors install services and equipment to the standards required by the IET. I have attended training with NICEIC and worked with them on occasion. Wherever I can, I use NICEIC training materials.
